Fashion and Apparel
Size and color variants multiply URLs fast, so duplicate management and clean canonicals matter most here. Seasonal collection content targets the category searches that carry the volume.
Fix what Shopify's defaults leave behind and turn organic search into a channel that sells.
Your Shopify store can have great products and clean design and still lose sales to competitors who rank higher. At tamer, we work inside the platform's structure, its collections, templates, and admin, to fix what holds your store back in search, the Shopify-specific layer of our ecommerce SEO services.
The problem
Strong defaults, real limits.
The platform ships with robots.txt, an XML sitemap, automatic canonical tags, and SSL, so many store owners assume SEO is handled. Those defaults are a starting line, not a finish. The platform also creates duplicate URLs, ships thin collection pages, and lets apps slow your store down, and none of that fixes itself. Closing that gap is the work, so search engines and shoppers can find your store.
What it covers
Platform-specific work, not a generic checklist.
Shopify SEO improves how search engines crawl, index, and rank your store, working within the platform's fixed structure. It is the platform-specific layer of our broader ecommerce SEO services, focused on the collections, templates, apps, and product data that are unique to how the platform works. The goal is more qualified organic traffic and revenue, without paying for every click.
Platform depth
Platform problems most generalist agencies miss.
The platform makes stores easy to run and hard to fully optimize. These are the platform-specific issues we fix, the ones that come from how it is built, not from a missing setting.
When a product sits in more than one collection, Shopify generates a separate URL for each path, so one product can live at several addresses at once. A 500-product store with three collections and three variants per product can create thousands of crawlable URLs for 500 real products. We align canonical tags to the /products/ version and correct the theme so internal links point to the canonical URL, not the collection path.
The platform locks every product under /products/, every collection under /collections/, and content under /pages/ and /blogs/, with no way to remove those prefixes. You cannot build a custom hierarchy or place a product at the root. We work within that fixed structure and shape the signals we do control, so Google reads your hierarchy clearly.
Canonical tags ship by default, but they are a hint to Google, not an order, and Google ignores them a meaningful share of the time. Themes and apps can also change or duplicate them silently. We check the rendered canonical on real templates, since the admin panel alone can hide the problem, and make internal links, sitemap, and canonicals agree on one URL per page.
Product variants do not get their own title tags or meta descriptions by default, so a store selling a shirt in several colors cannot target "blue linen shirt" and "red linen shirt" natively. We use variant metafields and Liquid, or separate product pages where the search demand justifies it, so the right variant can rank.
Every app you install adds JavaScript to your storefront, and ten apps means ten extra scripts loading on every page, often pushing your Largest Contentful Paint past the 2.5-second mark Google uses. We audit third-party apps for the ones injecting scripts, overriding canonicals, or degrading speed, and trim what your store does not need.
Collection pages are usually your best chance to rank for category searches, which carry far more volume than any single product name. They ship nearly empty above the product grid. We add unique, useful copy to the collections that deserve SEO treatment, so Google has something to rank them for.
Store themes generally include Product schema, but it often ships incomplete or outdated, missing fields Google needs for rich results. We check and correct Product and Offer schema, validated with the Rich Results Test, so your listings can show ratings, price, and availability and earn more clicks.
Not sure how many of these your store has? A free audit reads your storefront and shows you exactly where the gaps are.
Why a specialist
Most agencies bring a WordPress playbook to a Shopify store.
That knowledge does not fully carry over from other platforms. The gap shows up in the exact places the platform is different, and that is where rankings are won or lost.
| What matters on Shopify | Generalist agency | tamer, Shopify focused |
|---|---|---|
| Duplicate URLs from collections | Often missed or left to defaults | Canonicals aligned and theme links corrected |
| Theme and Liquid work | Avoided or outsourced | Handled directly in the theme code |
| App speed impact | Rarely audited | Quarterly app audit for script bloat |
| Collection page content | Treated like blog pages | Written for category search intent |
| Reporting | Rankings and impressions | Organic revenue and conversions |
Scaling stores
More control for stores that are scaling.
Shopify Plus gives you SEO controls the standard plan does not, including the ability to edit robots.txt through Liquid for finer crawl control. For stores selling across regions, Markets supports multiple languages and countries, and we set up hreflang so the right version reaches the right shopper. Deeper multi-country strategy runs through our international SEO services; here we handle the Shopify side of it.
Migration
The riskiest moment for your organic traffic.
A move to Shopify, or a redesign on it, is where stores lose rankings if the SEO is mishandled. We map old URLs to new, set redirects, preserve metadata, and run launch QA before go-live. Then we monitor indexation, rankings, and traffic for 90 days after launch to catch any issue early.
A move to Shopify is where stores lose rankings, or keep every one of them.
Built for AI search
Where buyers now look: ChatGPT, Perplexity, Gemini, and AI Overviews.
A growing share of product research starts in an AI answer, not a list of blue links. We structure your store's content so ChatGPT, Perplexity, Gemini, and Google's AI Overviews can pull and cite it. AI engines read raw HTML and lift passages that stand on their own, so we write product and collection content with clear answers up front and clean structure a machine can extract. We track where your store gets cited with our own tool, AI Signal Rank.
For Miami stores, there is a second opening. Most of that work is built for English only. We build AI-ready content in Spanish as well, so your store can get found and cited by the bilingual shoppers your competitors are not writing for.
Get cited by AI in English and in Spanish, where your competitors are not writing.
Why tamer
Specific, verifiable reasons.
tamer holds a 5.0 rating on Google across 21 reviews. That comes from businesses that watched their stores improve and kept working with us. You can read every review before you decide.
Most agencies in this space chase Shopify Plus stores with thousands of SKUs and price their work for them. We optimize stores at the size most Miami businesses actually run. You get platform expertise scoped to your store, not an enterprise retainer.
Our Shopify work is directed by J Raydel Sanchez, tamer's Founder and Content Strategy Lead. Every store is worked by hand, from canonical cleanup to collection content, not run through a template. That first-hand expertise is what search engines and AI engines now reward.
We track organic revenue, conversion rate, and keyword movement in Shopify Analytics, Google Analytics, and Google Search Console. Rankings and sessions matter, but the number that counts is what your store earns from organic search.

Same platform, different search landscape. These principles hold across industries, but the keywords, content, and technical traps change by vertical. A few we work with:
Size and color variants multiply URLs fast, so duplicate management and clean canonicals matter most here. Seasonal collection content targets the category searches that carry the volume.
Spec-rich product pages and comparison content win these high-consideration searches. Structured specs and accurate Product schema help both shoppers and rich results.
Subscription and ingredient-focused content builds the topical depth these searches reward. Reviews add trust signals and long-tail keyword coverage on product pages.
Broad catalogs need disciplined collection architecture so the right category pages rank. Buying guides bring top-of-funnel shoppers toward the collections that convert.
From Hialeah to Miami Lakes, Doral, and beyond, we help local Shopify stores rank, get found, and sell more.
Collection and product optimization tuned for Hialeah's bilingual shoppers, in English and in Spanish.
